I can't export my chat history

I’ve tried several times over the last few days and I haven’t received any email. I understand the export is pretty big so I don’t mind waiting but with no timeframe given and it being several days since I first tried, I’m going to assume there’s something wrong.

Anyone else having this issue?

I request my chat history from time to time, just did it a few days ago, and the email usually arrives in less than 10 minutes.

I have tried several times in the last 3 days, but I cannot export the chat data. I haven’t been getting my mail

Did you verify the email address OpenAI is using?

Checked to see if the message noted the email address, it did not.

How I checked my email address using ChatGPT

  1. Open side panel
  2. In lower left click on account icon, typically circle with letter.
  3. In the dialog at the top will be the email address.

I could not export starting Friday or so, as another data point.

I just did an export and right after clicking export a small dialog displayed at the top of the page noting export successful. Do you see such?

Have not seen email but it sometimes takes a few minutes.


My previous export, which was successfully received as an email was Wed, Nov 13, 10:00 AM (5 days ago)

I see an “Export Successful” pop up in Safari, Chrome, and the Mac desktop app.

Previously, the email showed up instantly, but this has not worked for 3 days.

Another new user reported the same problem.

I’ll pin this topic for a few hours to see if others will try to confirm if they can/cannot receive the email. Might just be an email server down somewhere and just needs a reboot.

I have successfully exported chat data several times before. Only in the last 3 days, the function is abnormal, I have tried in different time periods. Each time, the message “Export successful” was displayed, but I never received an email with a download link

I concur.

The email arrived less than a minute after the message noting successfully created.

It’s nice to know this is also happening to others. I am new, and so of course I thought I was making a mistake!
