We’re working on an app where ChatGPT refers a transcript and answers. The default GPT seems to always want to provide the source in this manner [1]. How do I prevent that. All my attempts trying to prompt it to not mention the source seems to fail.
This cannot be worked around. The citations exist as a means to protect against hallucinations and so the user can verify the accuracy of the response (if relevant). It’s also baked in the model pretty deep iirc because of the special technique to source the citation. So unfortunately, I wouldn’t expect to get around this (nor would I necessarily recommend so either).
