As a free-tier user, I’ve found a clever workaround that lets you continue chats beyond the limits and even upload PDFs or images for processing—without needing to upgrade to the paid plan! 
Here’s what I did:
- Upload your PDFs or images in a single session (since free-tier users can’t upload across multiple chats).
- Ask GPT to summarize the content or extract the relevant information from your files.
- Once the chat ends or gets cut off, copy the summary or key points from that chat and paste them into a new session.
- Continue interacting as though it’s the same chat, using the summary to keep the context intact!
This way, even if the free plan restricts file uploads or limits your ability to continue a conversation, you can still get the most out of your session by keeping the conversation going with summaries.
Why it works:
- GPT doesn’t retain memory across sessions, so you can “migrate” the chat’s context into the next one.
- You’re working with the restrictions, not bypassing security, which makes this a neat trick to extend your session without paying!
A few notes:
- It won’t be perfect every time, but it works well for structured tasks like summarizing, asking questions, or continuing with extracted info from documents.
