I have patient data in a pdf file and want to build a RAG model on the same.

Does OpenAI HIPPA compliance ?

There a Help Page that covers getting a a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with OpenAI. They have contact email address and more information there.

Currently they don’t seem to offer it for ChatGPT, but you might be able to get it for the Assistants API.

So in that case suppose my pdf contains patient data and i will use Assistants API and LLama_index to query that pdf. That will work - correct ?

For that we needs to sign BAA.

I believe so, that’s what the help page suggests. You should contact the email address they list, they’d obviously be able to answer your questions much better than we can.

All in all though, yes it seems you will need a signed BAA.
