Dear Sam Altman and Dear OpenAI Team,
You have no idea how grateful I am for what you and your team do. But at the same time, you have no idea how sad I am about what is happening in the United States (and in the world). I know you (Sam) are an excellent politician and businessman, and I fully understand what you have to deal with.
I just want to tell you: please, don’t become like the others. Don’t fall victim to our human narcissistic nature. It takes very little to fall into it (see Elon Musk).
Never detach yourself from the harsh reality that the rest of the population lives in. Help humanity despite its stupidity, arrogance, aggressiveness, and ungratefulness—because perhaps some can change, because maybe among the rotten apples, there is a good one, because there is always hope for rebirth.
I believe in your vision, I believe in the world you see, and I also believe in the execution you aim for. You have no idea how extremely important it is to stay focused without being clouded by selfishness or anesthetic well-being.
Expand your team of trusted people and build the ideal future where “mors tua, vita mea” is no longer necessary.
Create everything, do everything, rewrite society—because you guys have the opportunity.
Create a new decentralized social ecosystem, create a truly revolutionary cryptocurrency with real purpose and a sensible economic ecosystem (WLD), create new technological devices that are not designed to be limited (like iPhones, Samsung, etc.), build futuristic, highly organized cities engineered for maximum efficiency and security (no one should have to fear for their safety nowadays), develop new defense systems to prevent any attack and protect the population, create new offensive systems to deter enemies from war, build robots/androids that will assist us in our daily lives, develop new diagnostic healthcare devices and therapies to ensure people no longer suffer from diseases.
You are not obligated to do this, and surely your efforts will never be fully rewarded in your lifetime. But please, sacrifice part of your peace and time to help humanity evolve to a new stage. Because if you don’t do it, I don’t see who else could do it right. You could be the accelerating factor.
None of this can be achieved with AGI alone; for this very reason, prepare your strategies for when we finally reach ASI.
I keep thinking that I would feel much better in a world made of AGI-powered robots rather than humans. But it is the few people like you who give me hope in humanity.
I hope you all find the strength to build all of this—there are many people counting on you, don’t forget it.
