Hi all,

I am looking to embed the new chatGPT voice prompt feature into a language course (website and mobile app) and wondering if anyone knows if this is possible?

ChatGPT can only be used within ChatGPT’s own website or app. Thus, a “GPT” is locked in a prison for paying customers only who have ChatGPT plus.

Voice interactions are built on AI models that are available by the OpenAI API.

  • transcriptions: convert speech audio recordings to plain text
  • language AI: chat with user
  • speech: convert text to spoken audio

A web page doesn’t make for a good “alexa”, always waiting for commands. You can’t use advanced audio processing to detect wake words, speech, and silence. Thus you only see this in the app, or with a “record audio” button in the completions playground.

The API, you pay for all language data in and out, so you must find a revenue model to fund this AI consumption.
