I’m seeing YouTubers hyping GPT-5 like it’s the “best model ever” — all praise, all sponsored smiles. Reality check: most of us are on GPT-Plus or Enterprise (basically the same model as Plus with extra tools), and what we got is worse than before.
In coding? GPT-4.1 blows GPT-5 out of the water.
In music/lyrics? GPT-4.5 — even 4o — was sharper and more creative.
In real work? GPT-5 feels like a downgrade, not an upgrade.
Meanwhile, they keep telling us GPT-5 Pro is amazing. Fine — but if it’s truly that good, why is it locked away? Plus users shouldn’t be paying to test a worse model while influencers sell us a dream.
Wake up, Sam. The clock is ticking. If you keep pushing this nerfed GPT-5 while hiding the real thing behind Pro paywalls, you’ll push people straight to Gemini or Claude.
If GPT-5 Pro is as good as the hype, make it the baseline for Plus. Then make Pro the real next-level agent — like the GPT-Agent you teased, but better.
Until then, don’t call this “progress.” Give us a true GPT-5.
This is a developer community: a space for developers building apps with OpenAI APIs and tools to have technical discussions with other developers. The ChatGPT team doesn’t monitor this forum.
Got it — but here’s the thing: users like me post here because we don’t get direct access to the real ChatGPT team. The Discord is chaos, support tickets get you scripted replies, and real feedback on product direction never seems to make it back to the decision-makers.
If OpenAI doesn’t want GPT user feedback in the forums, fine — but maybe they should give us an actual official feedback channel that works, instead of burying every post and redirecting people to dead-end chats.
This isn’t just a “dev” problem — it’s a product trust problem.
