“You’re enrolled for up to 11 million complimentary tokens per day” – valid until Feb 28, incl. 1m o1(-preview) tokens. Ran my script last few days and everything was fine but for Jan 18 I used up around 1m o1-preview tokens but I’m getting charged for the entire 1m as if I didn’t have any free tokens. Any OpenAI people who can help me check?

Could you help me confirm my account is not eligible, because I only see the standard Sharing settings after clicking on the link in the email? It should say something about free tokens on this page if eligible, is it so?
@torronen Yes - you’d see a setting to opt-in to share prompts and completions, along with a note about eligibility for free tokens if you’re eligible. We’re hoping to expand access in the coming weeks!

Hi, @bhoover can you help me? I have the same problem, today January 26th I have only consumed 3 million tokens (input and output) approximately and it is already charging me, even though I have not exceeded 10 million tokens in 4o-mini.

Can you please help me? I have the exact same issue on my account? It says I’ve been granted the tokens but it keeps charging me. I am complying with the terms of this offer and using the correct models.

I am experiencing the same issue and would like some assistance. I have checked the box for the free program by providing data, but today I received an overage charge of approximately $20, even though I only used 260,000 tokens for input and 400,000 tokens for output with model o1.
Additionally, I have not used any other models today.

Hello, @dalisoft. As a long-time community member with experience in using API products, I’ll be glad to assist you in discovering if your account is eligible for the complimentary 1 million tokens for flagship models and 10 million tokens for “mini” models per day.
This was not widely announced because there seem to be some qualifying criteria for organizations before this is offered. I expect there are some classifications done of past API use, following a pattern of data that would be useful to collect for prompt and response sharing for future training. No need to have everyone clamoring for something that they aren’t offered.
First, log into your platform API account at platform.openai.com. As the organization “owner,” ensure the selection of the correct funded organization at the upper left that you expect would be offered this feature.
Then follow this link to get to the exact page:

This is what you will see if you merely have the option to turn on prompt sharing, but were not offered the promotional free usage:
You can turn it on, but there would be no mentions of any free usage. You simply would be offering your inputs to improve API models in the future on API use cases.
Complimentary tokens on prompts and completions shared with OpenAI
Some organizations may qualify for daily complimentary tokens on traffic shared with OpenAI.
How do I know if I am eligible for the free tokens or if I am enrolled for the free tokens?
You can see if you’re eligible for the offer by going to your data sharing settings page and confirming whether you see the “You’re eligible for free daily usage of gpt-4.5-preview, gpt-4o, o1, 4o-mini, o1-mini and o3-mini” offer.
You can then enable and save the sharing prompts option. When you re-visit the sharing page, you will then see information that you are enrolled in the free token program.

I am also using API and since $5 account create credit bonus and before o1-mini and gpt-4o days.
Currently my account tier is Tier 3 and balance is positive (nearly $100).
While my friend account is eligible even account is created recently and have lower balance than, so i do not know how it works.
I enabled and tick the checkbox and still not eligible.
If anyone from OpenAI teams could help me, i would be thankful
