Feature Request: Turn Chat Conversations into Future Actions with Calendar + Context

Problem:

People discuss many future things inside ChatGPT:

• product buying timelines
• application deadlines
• exam schedules
• reminders
• future plans

Example:

User: “When will iPhone prices likely drop?”

ChatGPT gives a timeline, but after weeks or months many users forget it or cannot find the original conversation again.

Suggested feature:

When ChatGPT detects timeline or future-oriented content, show small action buttons under the message:

:date: Add to Calendar
:bell: Remind Me Later
:speech_balloon: Continue This Conversation Later

Example flow:

User asks about iPhone price drops in May.

Months later:

“You asked about iPhone pricing earlier. Want updated information?”

Clicking it opens the same conversation thread.

This would help users retain useful information and continue conversations without searching through old chats.

Currently we do have Tasks in ChatGPT, where users can create reminders and scheduled follow-ups: Tasks in ChatGPT

However, I can see that your request is a bit different and more context-aware. Instead of manually setting a task, ChatGPT could automatically recognize future-oriented conversations - like product buying timelines, exam schedules, deadlines, travel plans, or pricing updates - and offer actions such as:

  • Add to Calendar
  • Remind Me Later
  • Continue This Conversation Later

The ability to revisit the same thread later with updated information also sounds useful.

I’ll pass this along to the team as product feedback.
