My chats tend to follow the form of a short prompt, followed by a long AI response. I find I’m navigating long conversations by scrolling between prompts, and then back down to review responses. It would be ideal to have some up/down buttons to jump (instantly scroll) between prompts.
The scroll bar is made for homogeneous documents, and not great for navigating chats. I remember the prompts because they’re small and I wrote them. I often don’t read to the end of the AI’s output before typing in a follow-up question. This makes much of the scrolling vertical space taken up by text that has not been reviewed at all, making it navigationally unknown territory. Scrolling by prompt increments would have an up/down buttons, preferably with a keyboard command, where the up button would jump to where the text of the previous prompt sits at the top of the page.
