Feature Request: Project-Scoped Data Export

I would like to suggest adding support for exporting data from a single project.

Currently, data exports are account-wide, even when a user only needs the conversations, files, and other data associated with one specific project. A native Export Project Data option within project settings would make it much easier to archive, transfer, or review individual projects without downloading unrelated account data.

My current workaround is to share the project with a temporary account, delete any other shared projects from that account, and then request a full data export. This works reasonably well, so the issue is not urgent, but it adds several unnecessary steps and requires using a separate account solely to isolate the project.

A project-scoped export could include:

  • Conversations and message history

  • Uploaded files and generated artifacts

  • Project instructions

  • Relevant metadata and timestamps

  • Folder or conversation relationships within the project

Even without a corresponding project-import feature, a structured single-project export would still be useful for backups, archiving, migration, and personal data organization.

This would be a relatively small quality-of-life improvement, but it would make data management much cleaner for users who organize separate areas of work through Projects.

A project-scoped export would make backups, archiving, migration, and record-keeping much cleaner than downloading an account-wide export with unrelated data included.

Also, appreciate you sharing the temporary-account workaround. It involves a few extra steps, but others looking to isolate and export a single Project may find it useful in the meantime.

A native “Export Project Data” option would still be a much smoother experience. I can’t promise a timeline, but I’ll pass this feedback along internally.
