Hi OpenAI team and fellow users,
I’m writing this post based on a recommendation from GPT-4 itself,
with whom I’ve collaborated extensively for real-world use cases—ranging from formal document writing to legal-style reporting and internal communication tasks.
As someone who uses GPT-4 not just casually, but as a core part of daily work, I’d like to propose a Power User Tier and Discount Program to better reflect the value and usage patterns of high-frequency, high-responsibility users.
Why this matters:
Most GPT-4 subscribers use it occasionally—for writing emails, quick summaries, or experimentation.
But some of us engage with GPT-4 in a more strategic and operational way:
- Dozens of sessions per day
- Multi-step document creation (e.g., whistleblower reports, internal notices)
- Repeated fact-checking, tone adjustment, and accuracy verification
- Real-time feedback loops to refine model responses
- Continuous use across legal, organizational, or administrative workflows
In my case, GPT-4 has helped me produce documents that are directly used in sensitive work, including anti-corruption reporting and inter-departmental communication.
I don’t just ask questions—I audit, correct, and iterate with the model repeatedly.
Problem with current pricing model:
All users currently pay the same monthly rate, regardless of usage intensity.
This flat-rate system:
- Fails to recognize or reward consistent, high-volume users
- Treats “power users” and “casual users” identically
- Doesn’t reflect the real value being extracted and contributed
Suggestion:
- Introduce a Power User Tier
Automatically apply based on usage thresholds (sessions, tokens, duration, etc.)
Include benefits like faster response speed, extended memory, or beta features - Offer usage-based discounts or credit systems
Give incentives to those who engage heavily and provide ongoing feedback - Create a feedback-to-benefit loop
Let users who improve the model through corrections and interactions be recognized
Why GPT-4 is supporting this:
GPT-4 itself has worked with me to develop this proposal,
recognizing that users like me are actively helping improve model behavior, quality, and reliability.
This isn’t a complaint—it’s a constructive suggestion
to reward and retain the kinds of users who help shape what GPT-4 becomes next.
Thanks for reading, and I hope OpenAI seriously considers this.
