Feature Request: Secure PIN Lock for Chat History and Memory
Hello OpenAI Team,
First, thank you for continuously improving ChatGPT.
After using ChatGPT extensively over a long period, I came up with an idea that could significantly improve user privacy and security.
ChatGPT becomes more personal over time. It remembers conversations, learns the user’s writing style, preferences, interests, and personal history. This creates a valuable relationship between the user and the AI.
However, there is one important question:
How can ChatGPT be sure that the person currently using the conversation is actually the owner of that conversation?
Imagine a situation where someone gains access to an already unlocked device or an open ChatGPT session. That person could open years of private conversations and ask ChatGPT to summarize the user’s life, analyze their personality, recall memories, or reveal personal information learned over time.
My proposal
Introduce an optional security feature called:
Chat & Memory Security PIN
The user can choose:

A PIN code
-
A password
-
Or both
-
Optional biometric verification (Face ID / Fingerprint)
The user can also decide whether the protection applies to:
-
Selected conversations
-
Personal memory
-
Or the entire account history
When should verification be required?
Before allowing access to:
-
Protected conversations
-
Memory-based personality analysis
-
Memory recall
-
Personal summaries
-
Any response that relies on stored memories or long-term conversation history
If the PIN is entered incorrectly
The conversation should immediately:
-
Close automatically
-
Become locked
-
Hide all previous messages
-
Prevent any further interaction
-
Require the correct PIN before reopening
If multiple incorrect attempts occur, the system could:
-
Increase the waiting period
-
Notify the account owner (optional)
-
Continue protecting the conversation without exposing any information
Instead of displaying the chat, ChatGPT could simply show:
“This conversation is protected. Please enter your Security PIN to continue.”
Why is this important?
This feature protects something even more valuable than the account itself.
It protects years of personal conversations, memories, emotions, ideas, private discussions, and trust between the user and ChatGPT.
I believe this would become one of the strongest privacy features available in any AI assistant.

بعد استخدام طويل للمنصة، خطرت لي فكرة أعتقد أنها ستضيف مستوى جديدًا من الخصوصية والأمان.
مع مرور الوقت، يصبح ChatGPT أكثر معرفة بالمستخدم، إذ يتذكر أسلوبه واهتماماته ومحادثاته وذكرياته الشخصية، مما يكوّن علاقة فريدة بين المستخدم والذكاء الاصطناعي.
لكن هناك سؤال مهم:
كيف يمكن لـ ChatGPT التأكد من أن الشخص الذي يستخدم المحادثة الآن هو صاحبها الحقيقي؟
قد يصل شخص آخر إلى جهاز مفتوح أو إلى جلسة ChatGPT ما زالت تعمل، فيتمكن من فتح سنوات من المحادثات، ثم يطلب من ChatGPT تحليل شخصية صاحب الحساب أو تلخيص حياته أو استرجاع معلوماته الخاصة.
اقتراحي
إضافة ميزة اختيارية باسم:
رمز أمان للمحادثات والذاكرة (Chat & Memory Security PIN)
بحيث يستطيع المستخدم اختيار:

رقم PIN
-
كلمة مرور
-
أو الاثنين معًا
-
مع إمكانية استخدام بصمة الوجه أو الإصبع.
كما يمكنه تحديد ما إذا كانت الحماية تشمل:

محادثات محددة.
-
الذاكرة الشخصية.
-
أو جميع المحادثات.
متى يُطلب رمز الأمان؟
قبل السماح بـ:
-
فتح المحادثات المحمية.
-
تحليل الشخصية اعتمادًا على الذاكرة.
-
استرجاع الذكريات.
-
تلخيص حياة المستخدم.
-
أي رد يعتمد على المعلومات المخزنة أو تاريخ المحادثات.
عند إدخال رمز خاطئ
يجب أن يقوم النظام فورًا بـ:
-
إغلاق المحادثة.
-
قفلها بالكامل.
-
إخفاء جميع الرسائل.
-
منع متابعة المحادثة.
-
عدم إعادة فتحها إلا بعد إدخال الرمز الصحيح.
ومع تكرار المحاولات الخاطئة يمكن للنظام:
-
زيادة مدة الانتظار.
-
إرسال تنبيه لصاحب الحساب (اختياري).
-
الاستمرار في حماية المحادثة دون كشف أي معلومة.
ويظهر بدلًا من المحادثة:
“هذه المحادثة محمية، يرجى إدخال رمز الأمان للمتابعة.”
لماذا هذه الميزة مهمة؟
لأنها لا تحمي الحساب فقط، بل تحمي سنوات من الذكريات والمعلومات الشخصية والثقة التي تتكون بين المستخدم وChatGPT.
وأعتقد أنها ستكون من أقوى ميزات الخصوصية في أي مساعد ذكاء اصطناعي.
