Feature Request: Persistent Project Workspace, Precise Image Editing & Output Verification

I use ChatGPT on a long-running renovation project with hundreds of conversations, images, measurements, design decisions and technical details.

The biggest limitation is that ChatGPT can remember a lot, but it does not maintain a clear authoritative project state.

I’d like to see three features:

  1. Persistent structured projects
    A project should contain current decisions, previous versions, source files, measurements, images and status such as Current / Proposed / Superseded.

    ChatGPT should know the difference between:

    • “we discussed this before”

    • and “this is the final version we are now using”

  2. Precise image editing with locked areas
    If I say, “keep everything exactly the same but move this beam 200 mm,” unrelated parts of the image should stay unchanged.

    Users should be able to lock objects or regions and edit only selected areas.

  3. A verification pass before showing the result
    ChatGPT should compare the output against the user’s explicit requirements before presenting it.

    For example:

    Requirement: braces only between wall and ceiling
    Generated result: brace appears somewhere else

    The system should catch that automatically and correct it.

The bigger idea is simple:

Conversation → structured project state → files/images/version history → generation → verification

That would turn ChatGPT from an assistant that remembers conversations into a genuine persistent project partner for construction, research, software, writing, business and other long-running work.

I think this would be a major improvement for anyone using ChatGPT over months or years rather than for isolated questions.
