Feature Request: Multi-Select ChatGPT Chat Archival
It would be very helpful to have a multi-select option for archiving chats, especially for users who manage many project-related conversations.
Currently, chats must either be archived individually or all at once. Archiving them one by one can quickly trigger a “too many requests” error. In some cases, this also causes the current chat list to disappear temporarily, making the interface difficult or impossible to use.
A practical improvement would be to let users:
-
Select multiple chats from the sidebar
-
Archive only the selected chats
-
Optionally select all chats within a specific project
This would make chat organization faster, safer, and much more manageable without requiring users to archive their entire history.

Hey @DysTopia!
This fits closely with some of the other feedback we have seen around making large chat histories easier to manage.
Right now there is quite a gap between archiving conversations one at a time and archiving everything. Being able to select exactly which chats you want to archive would give users a much more practical middle option, especially when organizing a large Project or cleaning up older work.
The point about repeated individual actions triggering a “too many requests” error is useful context as well. A proper multi select flow could reduce a lot of that repetitive work in the first place.
I also think a Project specific Select all option would be useful, especially when someone wants to clean up one area without affecting their other chats.
I cannot promise a timeline for changes like this, but I will pass your feedback along internally.
