Feature Request: Make Short-Form AI-Generated Video Answers the Default in ChatGPT — No More TikTok, YouTube, or Google Needed

Idea: When a user asks a question, ChatGPT could, by default, instantly respond with a brief AI-generated video (15–60 seconds) that visually and audibly explains the answer.

Why This Matters: Short-form video is the most popular content online today (TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, etc). Integrating fast AI-generated video responses could:

  • Make answers more engaging and accessible
  • Help users understand concepts faster because of visuals and sound
  • Compete with tech giants like TikTok, YouTube and Instagram in the short-form video space
  • Transform ChatGPT into a visual and audio answer engine, not just text-based

Imagine ChatGPT not just competing with social media, but possibly surpassing it in speed of knowledge delivery. Faster than a human could audibly speak things or show things.

With ChatGPT already ranking at the top of Google Play, making this feature the default response could significantly challenge social media. People would no longer need to scroll TikTok or YouTube to find video answers — they could get instant, precise explanations on demand.

I believe this feature could significantly expand the use of ChatGPT, making ChatGPT both a knowledge tool and a video platform.

Thank you for considering this idea!

Hey @z2sb7i9w - this is a really interesting idea! Short, visual answers for quick explanations would be super useful, especially for things that are easier to show than explain in text.

Appreciate you taking the time to lay it out like this. I’ve shared it along. No timeline I can promise, but ideas like this are great signal for how people want to use ChatGPT beyond just text.

Right Now:

  • Users scroll TikTok or YouTube, searching endlessly and maybe finding the answer
  • Learning is slow, inefficient, and frustrating

With This Idea:

  • Ask a specific question and get a visual + audio answer in seconds
  • Learning is fast and effortless

Potential Impact:

  • Expands ChatGPT’s usage even further (already highly ranked on Google Play)
  • Encourages social media platforms and content creators to improve, or risk losing relevance
  • Users save minutes—or even hours—every day
  • People may stop scrolling TikTok and YouTube for answers, switching their attention to ChatGPT

Global Implications:

  • Redirects global attention away from social media
  • Changes how billions access knowledge forever
  • ChatGPT becomes a visual + audio knowledge engine, not just a text-based AI

In short:

If ChatGPT sits at the top of Google Play with instant short video answers as the default, billions of people could stop scrolling social media and even bypass Google search, flocking instead to speed, precision, and instant knowledge delivered in visual and audio form.

Why Short-Form Video Answers Should Be Default in ChatGPT:

  • Top of Google Play = Maximum Visibility
Billions of users see it instantly.
Default behavior = automatic habit adoption at global scale.
  • Global Knowledge Shift
Social media scrolling and Google searches become secondary. Billions flock to instant, specific, visual + audio answers, fundamentally changing how people learn and find information.

In short:

Making short-form video answers the default while ChatGPT sits at the top of Google Play positions it as the primary knowledge engine for billions. Learning becomes faster through instant, specific, visual + audio answers, habits become ChatGPT-first, and global attention shifts away from TikTok, YouTube, and Google.
