I’d love to suggest a dedicated Language Learning Mode for ChatGPT Voice.
I’m currently learning German, and I believe the following features would make ChatGPT an incredibly powerful language-learning tool:
- Real-time subtitles: Display accurate, synchronized subtitles while ChatGPT speaks. Accuracy should be prioritized over speed to avoid learning incorrect language.
- Shadowing mode: Allow automatic pauses after each sentence so users can repeat it aloud and practice pronunciation.
- Vocabulary highlighting: Highlight unfamiliar words and expressions during conversations.
- Personal vocabulary library: Let users save words and phrases directly from voice conversations, including translations and examples.
- Spaced repetition: Provide flashcards and personalized exercises to review saved vocabulary and practice specific topics.
The goal: Combine listening, reading, speaking, pronunciation practice, and vocabulary learning into one seamless interactive experience.
This would be especially valuable for intermediate learners who want to progress toward fluency through natural conversations.
I’d genuinely love to see this implemented in ChatGPT!
