I would like to propose a new feature for OpenAI.
Millions of historical family photographs and cultural archive images are damaged by age. While current AI restoration is impressive, it sometimes changes facial identity, traditional clothing, or important historical details.
I propose a dedicated “Historical & Cultural Preservation Mode” that prioritizes:
• Identity preservation
• Historical authenticity
• Cultural accuracy
• Restoration of scratches, fading and damage without altering people’s faces
• Support for museums, archives, indigenous communities, and cultural heritage organizations
This feature would help preserve humanity’s cultural memory while respecting historical truth and authenticity.
