Feature Request: Export & Transfer Options for Team Workspaces

Hello OpenAI team and community,

I’ve noticed some important limitations while using Team Workspaces compared to Personal accounts:

  1. Personal accounts have an “Export Data” option, but Team Workspaces do not.

  2. There is currently no way to transfer chats from one Team Workspace to another Team Workspace.

  3. If a Personal account is merged into a Team Workspace, it cannot be undone (no rollback option).

Why this is a problem (my case):

  • My old Team Workspace is going to be deactivated, but I cannot export or migrate the chats to the new Team Workspace.

  • This means I will lose all important conversation history that my team relies on for continuity.

  • If an admin becomes inactive, or if an organization restructures, all chat history is stuck in the old workspace with no recovery.

  • Personal → Team merge is also one-way only, so there’s no flexibility if a mistake is made.

  • Is there really no export option for Team Workspaces, or am I missing it?

  • If it doesn’t exist yet, can OpenAI please consider adding:

    • Export option for Team Workspaces (like Personal accounts have).

    • Team → Team transfer/migration feature for organizations that restructure or need continuity.

    • An option to undo Personal → Team merge in case it was done by mistake.

This would be very helpful for teams and businesses that rely on ChatGPT for their workflows.
