Dear OpenAI Team,
First of all, thank you for building ChatGPT. It has become a daily companion for learning, planning, and improving my productivity.
I’d like to suggest a feature that I believe could significantly enhance the personal assistant experience.
Apple Watch Sleep & Wake Integration
Imagine ChatGPT having optional access to Apple Health and Apple Watch sleep data (with explicit user permission).
Instead of relying on fixed schedules, ChatGPT could detect when I actually wake up and intelligently begin my day.
For example:
• Wait until Apple Watch confirms that I’ve been awake for about 10 minutes.
• Send a personalized morning briefing.
• Remind me of today’s highest priority tasks.
• Continue unfinished projects from yesterday.
• Show my calendar, weather, emails, and reminders.
• Remind me about habits such as studying, exercising, or reading.
• Suggest the best order to tackle today’s work based on my long-term goals.
Likewise, at night ChatGPT could recognize that I’m preparing for sleep and help me:
• Review what I accomplished today.
• Prepare tomorrow’s schedule.
• Save important memories from the day.
• Recommend reading or learning material before bed.
Why this matters
Today’s assistants are mostly time-based.
A truly intelligent assistant should be context-aware.
The difference is huge:
Instead of:
“At 8:00 AM, remind me…”
It becomes:
“I see you’ve just started your day. Here is everything you should focus on today.”
This feels much closer to having a real executive assistant rather than a notification app.
Future Possibilities
If privacy settings allow, this concept could expand even further by combining:
• Apple Watch
• Apple Health
• Calendar
• Gmail
• Location
• Reminders
• ChatGPT Memory
This would allow ChatGPT to proactively help users at the right moment instead of only responding after they ask.
I believe this would become one of the most valuable productivity features for professionals, students, and anyone trying to build better habits.
Thank you for considering this idea, and thank you again for all the work your team is doing.
Best regards,
Sanaz Baghban
