Feature request: Add a “Save Temporary Chat” / “Convert to Permanent Chat” option

I use Temporary Chat for privacy, but I often need a way to preserve an unexpectedly useful conversation.

Temporary Chat is useful because it does not save to history, does not create memories, and is deleted after 30 days. But sometimes a temporary conversation becomes valuable and the user should be able to keep it. Please add a button that lets the user explicitly convert a temporary chat into a normal saved chat after a confirmation step.

Suggested behavior:

- Temporary Chat stays temporary by default.

- The user can tap “Save this chat” or “Convert to permanent.”

- A confirmation screen explains that the chat will be added to history and follow normal saved-chat behavior.

- The feature should be opt-in only, so privacy is preserved.

This would prevent useful conversations from being lost while keeping the privacy-first design of Temporary Chat.

Hey @hiremeplease, welcome to the community!

This makes sense for those situations where a conversation starts out disposable but becomes worth keeping along the way. An explicit confirmation step would also help preserve the privacy-first behavior of Temporary Chat, since nothing would be saved unless the user deliberately chooses to convert it.

There isn’t currently a way to turn a Temporary Chat into a regular saved conversation, so the only partial option is to manually copy anything important into a new chat.

I can’t promise or share a timeline for changes like this, but I’ll pass along your suggestion for an opt-in “Save this chat” option.
