"Failed to move the conversation to the project"

I’m trying to tidy up some conversations by sorting them into projects (select ellipsis-button on the conversation → Add to project → select the project) but I keep getting this red error message: “Failed to move the conversation to the project”

An error message indicating "Failed to move the conversation to the project" is displayed on a red background with an alert icon. (Captioned by AI)

It looks like if I just try again and again, sometimes it will work, but it takes way to many tries to use this as a workaround strategy.

I am using ChatGPT Edu and the conversations I’m trying to add to projects are plain text GPT-4o chats, no voice, no images.

I’m having the same issue. Running CGPT in Chrome, or on their Win10 app it seems impossible to move conversations into projects. However running the CGPT MacOS app seems to do this just fine. Looks like OpenAi is catering to one OS over the other = Apple fanboys?
Side note,
OpenAi’s help/support/contact is so bad, you’d think with the amount of money they’re raking in they could at least get some real support going.

I’m on Mac and you are right, that moving conversations into projects works in the Mac app. So I guess I will have to use that rather than the browser (I use Arc, which is Chromium-based).

Hello, the problem is persistent everywhere, mobile iOS, Ipad, MicrosoftPC application, webbrowser. for me it doesnt work even after multiple tries. I am unable to add any chats so practically projects are useless until i can add my conversations in them.

Please @ OpenAI team, can you take a look into this issue, this has been ongoing for quite some time now.

thank you.
