Any recommendations on external knowledge integration? (unstructured text, videos & structured text; multiple APIs)

A few months ago, I tried a commercial solution - they said just upload your own files and their chatbot will be able to talk about it. The solution was very bad. I am hoping you can share better experiences - of building a plugin connected to your API or using 3rd party tools. Is it even possible to have a decent product without proper training and customized reinforcement learning? Any suggestions or comments?

Check out JiggyBase which is another commercial solution that works as a ChatGPT plugin, has full API, role based access control, etc.
