Hi,
So about a month ago I started using ChatGPT’s voice recording function to have it transcribe what I’m saying as a way of getting my thoughts out, rather than having to type everything. I’ve been running into a certain bug almost straight away though, which makes this function almost unusable.
A lot of the times, my minutes of talking just get lost due to the message “network error” as soon as I hit “stop record”. Sometimes it works when I click “try again”, but a lot of the times the recording just disappears. A workaround for this is for me to simultanously record on a seperate device, so that I can playback what I just tried to record and basically have ChatGPT record that recording and hope for the best. There’s times where I have had to do this up to three times for 1 specific recording.
The chances of this bug happening get higher the longer my recordings get. This already starts happening more frequently from 3 minutes onward though, which isn’t very long in my opinion and I basically don’t even want to test out 5+ minute recordings, since I am afraid it’ll get lost anyway.
I am using an Android device, which I think is important to add, cause a friend of mine is using ChatGPT for the same thing and has an iPhone and so far HAS NOT ran into this issue yet. And I mean not even one single time. He can record up to 10 minutes and there’s never been an issue. I believe his only stops recording at 10 minutes, but it transcribes everything with no problem.
Has anyone else ran into this issue yet? Perhaps it’s an Android thing? I have it on both my Samsung Ultra s23 and Samsung Tablet S10 Ultra, which makes me believe it’s an Android thing. Again, it can’t be a coincidence that my friend literally has more than 10+ hours of recording and never ran into this issue.
Any help would be much appreciated, cause I really want to use this function as such, but due to this bug it makes it almost impossible.
Thanks in advance!
