Is it just me or did they remove the Edit history again like they did in the March update?
So I wanted to try different iterations of a response and I don’t have the “<” and “>” to switch between the edited iterations, just like 6 months ago when many people unsubscribed and switched to other LLMs cos of it. This worked a few days ago. What I got instead was chat reactions… apparently that was a critical addition that needed to be added, while a feature-removal that made tons of people cancel their subscriptions was removed all over again.
So do any other of you have this issue or am I the unlucky AB tester?
Side note: has anybody found a way to disable the markdown/WYSIWYG formatter in the chat? It’s murder in languages like C or C++ where macros having underscores around them like __ VERSION __ become “VERSION” (ironically enough, it also happens on these forums and I am forced to add spaces) and ChatGPT complains that I am writing the macro incorrectly and that it needs underscores.
Minor rant: I actually expected OpenAI to learn from past mistakes where it pushes new things while removing things that we used for a long time, but it seems it didn’t. While the March update thing was huge, it continued with the new sucky “improved memory” which is horrible, then again with the markdown/WYSIWYG and of course reverted to removing the edit history all over again.
