Drag and drop file storage or cloud integration

Here’s a clear and concise message for you to share in the OpenAI feedback forum:

Subject: Feature Request: Drag-and-Drop File Management or Cloud Storage Integration

Message:

Hello OpenAI Team,

I’d like to suggest a feature that would significantly enhance the workflow for users of ChatGPT, particularly those who generate and manage large volumes of work products.

Proposed Features:

  1. Drag-and-Drop File Management:

Enable a sidebar feature where generated files (e.g., PDFs, spreadsheets) are listed and can be directly dragged and dropped into local or cloud storage. This would eliminate the need for manual downloading and saving, streamlining file organization.

  1. Cloud Storage Integration:

Allow users to link their cloud storage accounts (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive) to ChatGPT. Work products could then be automatically stored in a designated folder without requiring touch labor. This would save time and provide seamless access across devices.

Benefits of Implementation:

• Increased efficiency for managing work outputs.

• Improved user experience, particularly for iterative or large-scale projects.

• Enhanced long-term file organization and accessibility.

Request for Acknowledgment:

I’d appreciate it if you could confirm receipt of this suggestion and let me know if this feature aligns with your development roadmap. Thank you for considering this improvement to the ChatGPT experience!

Best regards,
Terry Clark

Feel free to modify this as needed, and let me know if you need additional help!

Welcome to the forum I moved you to ChatGPT feature requests.

You may know this but linking apps lets you use cloud storage…
2. Cloud Storage Integration:

  1. Drag-and-Drop File Management:

This can be done by dropping or saving to linked clouds.

You can also link a GPT with a cloud notebook using settings on an apple device.

Steps to Create a Shortcut for Sending Text to iCloud Notes

  1. Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap the “+” button in the top right corner to create a new shortcut.
  3. Tap “Add Action” and search for “Create Note”.
  4. Select “Create Note” from the search results.
  5. In the “Create Note” action, you can customize:
  • Content: Tap on the text field and choose “Clipboard” (this will allow you to copy text from ChatGPT and automatically send it to a new note when you run the shortcut).
  • Show More: Here, you can set where the note will be saved, such as “iCloud” or a specific folder in Notes.
  1. Name the shortcut (e.g., “Save to Notes”) and choose an icon if you’d like.
  2. Run the Shortcut:
  • After copying text from ChatGPT, simply open the Shortcuts app (or ask Siri to run “Save to Notes”).
  • The shortcut will create a new note in iCloud Notes with the copied text.

Now, whenever you copy text from ChatGPT, you can use this shortcut to quickly create a new note in iCloud Notes

Hope all this helps and once again welcome to the rabbit hole :hole::rabbit:
