Below is the stream of posts and messages leading up to the event.

We’re expecting a shipload of exciting API updates today.

Sam Altman kicks off DevDay 2025 with a keynote to explore ideas that will challenge how you think about building. Join us for announcements, live demos, and a vision of how developers are reshaping the future with AI.

For everyone who couldn’t make it to San Francisco in person there will be a live stream.
If you’re attending on-site, feel free to share your impressions here — @Foxalabs is one of ours at the event today!

Let’s watch the stream together and share thoughts as the announcements roll in:

calendar release incoming?? the google process for that to work is horrible and it kinda degreades the performance (of the LLMs), so I wonder if they’ll announce that?

predictions? sora2 on the api? sora released for everyone? (btw, thanks for the access to it! and thanks for the bugbounty review on it, its nice to have it confirmed/approved as a vuln)

auto fine tunning (a hit at thinking machines?)

robotics announcement by any chance?

project stargate updates?

whisper3?

a video game making model?

MMLLMs on: 3d assets? asset rigging? animation model?

perhaps something at the turn-tables feature like adobe did?

oh, and the classic: voice cloning to have the assistant sound more like you or a fictional character? (we all know its possible to clone any voice, so the main issue is compliance and bad actors, so maybe they have a solution around that?)

backwards compability of the api (as in gpt-5 vs gpt-4+)?

btw: the waiting animations are really nice, the sound is a bit annoying but I love everything else about it heh

announcement of api credits having no expiry date would be nice, I kinda hate (more like dislike) having to be pressured to spend tokens after 1 year

a zero day model for security? (AIxCC)

gpt-5 is too strict on talking about sensitive topics and you have to kinda fight it to get somethings done, so I wonder if there will be any updates on that?

a world interactive model (similar to genie 3)?

announcement about the research paper on evals? (really cool paper to read btw)

can’t wait for xmas25 this year. I’ll stop editing this now, good luck at the dev day event! hopefully everyone is already seated and quiets down

(btw, hi sama and everyone at OAI)

Retina scans at your local OpenAI ID registry site to send developer message, tier level expires after a year, account balance +$1000 and Dun and Bradstreet credit pull to have your use-case evaluated for new models. If you extrapolate.

Looks like the streaming is a bit late.

And you just got a screen cap of the identity of premium API accounts and attendees.

apps are not out yet on chatgpt, can’t wait for the role out! godspeed to the devops team

question: will they address paid apps? or will every app have to be free? cause I got a bunch of paid customers using my stuff so I wouldn’t want to release an app for free (or at least free to a certain threshold)

Apps SDK .. for building micro apps in ChatGPT - perhaps evolution of Custom GPTs ? Also noticing the time spent on ChatGPT vs different tabs in the browser.

I think the presentation pretty much laid out the level you need to be at to have a ChatGPT ‘app’ considered for publication. Be a brand name partner that wants co-op advertising.

If we already have extensively tested instructions in Dashboard/Chats, can’t we just sync them up with the AgentBuilder? Seems weird there isn’t a dropdown or something to just select what we already have for instructions for an agent?

Am I missing something, or is the idea to copy/paste between Chat and Agent Builder?

How do we suggest apps for the next round of integrations?

I think you would need to inspire a large known company with a web product that can be presented in a chat interface to partner with OpenAI, or at least tip off OpenAI’s go-to-market team with a connection they should pursue.

Probably no monetizing “laundry buddy” this time around.
