I am a pro user. However, no matter which question I enter in the chatbox, the deep research feature never activates. Has anyone else experienced the same issue?

Same here. Very confused, it same something wrong with OAIDR first model chooses not to activate o3(specific) model to start DR. And human users can not activate DR by choosing the DR bottom.
Same here. I am a Pro user and when I type something in I do get a list of questions sometimes and refinement for its task, but then it just sits and does nothing even after 24 hours.

When I use o1 pro with deep research, it’ll answer me immediately with o1 pro but no deep research. I tried 30+ research topics, but never see a “starting research” bar. Feels like the “deep research” button is disfunctional and useless.
I don’t know why. My 200 dollars is wasted.

Same pro user here. I tried GPT4o, O3-mini and ask many many questions, it never activate the Deep Research mode. Anyone figure out a solution?

Hey guys - Amit here from Tallyfy (we’re a workflow automation app). I did a hard-refresh on my browser - and then the deep research button showed a slightly different color. From that point, it actually worked, and activated deep research mode. Hope this helps someone

I got the same issue. The deep research mode is never activated even I click the button and tried hundreds of times for different o1 or o3 models. My 200 $ is wasted.

Amit, thank you! I got a notification about a Google update, but I didn’t update it. Now I have updated Google, and Deep Research works.
I too am having this issues. I have had to tell it to start the research up to 3 times in a row despite each time it saying “i’m going to research…”. I find the bug worse on continued deep research requests in a thread and not the first

It looks like after a certain amount of responses in a single chat, the deep research toggle no longer works. I open the + menu, I click deep research, however the blue “research” text does not show up to signal it will perform deep research. Agent and web appear to work fine. I have now replicated this bug twice. To do a new deep research prompt I have to go to a new chat - this is troublesome, because in my current chat, each response, deep research, etc builds upon one another so I would effectively lose progress half way through my phase of prompts. I’ve restarted my browser, I have used a private tab, nothing works. Starting a new chat does work. Oh and I have over 200 deep research prompts left…
