Not sure what is wrong but I can’t test my app due to the issue with quota.
Every response is saying quota exceeded but I’ve never even tried, this is the first time. Is API actually working on free account at all ?
Please advise.
Me too, I think it started around an hour ago. I’m far from the quota limit (only around 28k tokens usage) and it constantly reports quota reached. It must be a bug.

There is no free account. You have to prepay. The use of API services costs money.
OpenAI made the API pricing page harder to find.
I think there must be a missunderstanding as a newly created account supposed to have a 5$ free tokens. I’ve created this new account just to test my app with ChatGPT and I supposed to have this free tokens available. This is enough to make sure my app is working / communicate with ChatGPT.
Unfortunately … it simply does not work and I’m a little bit disappointed.
I think there is a misunderstanding, as granting trial credits to new accounts was discontinued quite a while ago.
