Is anyone else experiencing trouble in updating environment variables in codex desktop (MacOS) application?

I have been using local STDIO MCP server in codex which requires some environment variables. It did work perfectly until I had to change the env variable in the config.

The MCP config settings is completely unresponsive. I changed the value of the required variable and saved multiple times, reloaded the codex app, everything. still the variable was staying the same.

But did you actually unset the offending variable?

Yeah same issue for me and theres no “offending variables“ as suggested the configuration has been working fine for months but now save is soft failing with no validation or user-facing response other than accepting the save click event.

Edit: okay looks like creating new ones is fine but editing is specifically where the issue is.
