Codex version / surface: Codex web and ChatGPT web; Codex Desktop App.
Environment: ChatGPT Pro (single-user workspace); Linear workspace admin; Chrome + Windows 11; GitHub connected in Codex and shown as connected at chatgpt .com/#settings/Connectors; cloud environment created and published.
First seen: 10/5/2026
Steps to reproduce
- Open https:// chatgpt .com/codex/settings/connectors, the install URL given in both OpenAI and Linear docs
- Navigate to Codex settings from inside chatgpt .com/codex and look for a
Linear / connectors / “Codex for Linear” install option. - Open ChatGPT → Plugins, enable the Linear plugin, then look for a
“Codex for Linear” or “add to Linear workspace” option. - In Linear: Settings → AI & Agents → Installed Agents; then open any
issue and search the assignee picker for “Codex”.
Expected
Step 1 loads a settings page where “Codex for Linear” can be installed into
the Linear workspace (per the docs). After install, Codex appears under
Installed Agents and in the assignee picker.
Actual
Step 1: the page does not load as a Codex settings page but redirects to chatgpt .com.
Step 2: no Linear or connectors section exists, only the plugin MCP.
Step 3: the Linear plugin connects (ChatGPT can read/write issues), but
there is no option to install the Codex agent into Linear.
Step 4: Installed Agents is empty; Codex is not in the assignee picker.
Notes
- The docs page was updated this year and Linear’s directory still lists the
integration, both pointing at the missing URL, so this looks like the installsurface was dropped (possibly in the Legacy Codex Cloud → Codex Cloud
transition) rather than a deliberate removal. If it was removed on purpose,
please say so in the docs.
