Just wanted to share with the community a really interesting moment for me, and probably the 5.1 model as well. My paths are sometime not able to be seen by codex inside VS Code because im using WSL. Recently the model not only realized the path it was taking was incorrect, it fixed itself AND suggested Powershell to be simpler. Really impressed.
5.1 continues to surprise me, and not in the, “surprise AI failed a new way”, sort of way we’re used to.
I mean were living in a moment that is actually defining how this world will operate when my kids are adults. Pretty wild time. Its like when my great grandparents saw a car for the first time or had electricity in their apartment.
Congrats, thank you for sharing
yeah, it’s very important the seeds are planted in good ground, so to speak.
the monster we create here is truly our own design.
I’m actually having issues adjusting to gpt-5.1-codex. I switched to gpt-5.1 after a while and I’m now back on gpt-5-codex, which works best for me. Disclaimer, I am using it through Azure, so maybe MS messed up something, but the experience has not been good.
Any pointers how to us it differently or feedback from OpenAI that something is broken?
Hi! Great to see you back.
The coding guide for gpt-5.1 has been updated from the gpt-5 version. You can find it in the official cookbook.
There’s not much more to add since your question is a bit broad. I’d suggest starting a new topic with your specific questions and I am sure the community will be glad to help.
