This has been happening for me all week. I am on ChatGPT app for MacOS and cannot get a file or download in the app or in Safari. Tried switching to GPT-4o mini and still does not work.
seriously openai needs to fix it, as this is still there and since 28 nov continously with my paid business account

ChatGPT has been helping me code something every day for 5 weeks straight and now I simply cannot get the code. The downloads don’t work, switched the model tried alternatives as chagtp suggested (email, dropbox, wetransfer, etc) nothing works.
Anyone found out how to solve this? After switching models now ChatGPT all of a sudden started claiming that it could never process files and it cannot zip files or even prepare them for download even though I spent 4 hours now trying to get the files.

I was able to resolve by simply telling ChatGPT that the file was not downloading. On the third time telling it that, it corrected the problem by analyzing it. And I was able to download.
same here，unable to output any files, on any platform, or even to let GPT roll a random die and display the result. This is the most important reason why I chose the membership.
its frustrating to expect things from ai and then getting stuck for two weeks with no progress,
what are the open ai team doing or they are also heavily relying on ai to fix itself
the support stopped replying back to my emails even

Hi everyone, after a couple of days without any issues I started having the GetDownloadLinkError. I tried different file formats and I tried to ask chatgpt to change the file name also without success. Seems a very common error that happens frequently. Is there anyone that solved the issue with a workaround or similar? (I’ve subscribed the paid plus plan this month 
) Based on my perception the issues re-appeared after the last general problems occurred on the OpenAi platform last week. Tx

The same issue here. 14 hours ago it started on the desktop app. 1/2 hour ago on the web-version as well.

I’ve had a ChatGPT Plus subscription since it first became available. I also use the API. This issue just started occurring for me starting Friday, January 3rd, 2024 using ChatGPT Plus. I decided to Google the error and came across this thread. I am replying to add that as on January 4th, 2025, the issue still persists.

Ditto. I’ve faced issues like this for months on end and it is virtually impossible to work around.
Almost EVERY attempt I make to build a repeatable business or personal process around ends into a fight to get something that has worked to happen. If I’m not trying to debug how it is doing something then I’m fighting to get a link or a file generated or even a manual dump.
I don’t know why creating links or accessing files had to be so damn difficult, but we should at least be able to view the sandbox files or view debug information. As is chat GPT has a habit of turning any “automation” into something that takes 3x longer that is random, inconsistent, and frustrating…

Same issue here. Sometimes it works, then you rely on it, only to hit the error. Frustrating. I’ve been having it output a table for our work, then request it convert the table to a .csv that I can copy and paste into a file. Doing the conversion on my own. Sucks but Im still thankful that I have ChatGPT to help me out!
