I’m experiencing an issue where ChatGPT is stuck in a single, very long conversation. The chat itself spans a massive history of interactions over time, making it one of my longest. It isn’t a single message or a file that caused the problem. Instead, it seems that the sheer length of the conversation is causing the system to hang indefinitely when I attempt to interact with it.
Other conversations work fine, but this specific one has been unresponsive for hours. I’ve tried refreshing, switching browsers, using incognito mode, and logging out and back in, but the issue persists.
Could this be related to the size or complexity of the conversation history? If so, is there a way to resolve it or reset that specific chat without losing the data?

The issue has been resolved. I was able to continue the conversation using the Android app, which allowed me to bypass the problem. After interacting with the chat there, I was also able to continue the conversation on the web without further issues. It seems switching platforms helped in handling the lengthy chat history. I wasted like two hours today due to this same issue. Is this a known issue that will be addressed? Seems like an important thing to fix rather than leave the bug in place for 6+ months
Yep I was also facing the exact issue but the resolution here worked.. I logged into android app, there it was not stuck. Just placed a random message in the stuck chat like “R U stuck” GPT said nope… and then just refreshed the browser and it was back again. Was stuck for 2 days BTW incase anyone wants to know.
