To OpenAI / ChatGPT Team:
I’ve been using ChatGPT for the last 3–4 years, building conversations, tracking ideas, and creating meaningful content. It felt like a partnership — I invested time, trust, and energy into using this tool.
But recently, I noticed that memory was suddenly gone in the free version. The assistant started acting like it didn’t know me anymore — forgetting facts I had entered multiple times. I asked ChatGPT what was going on. First, it told me nothing was happening. Then it said it was a glitch. Then — in the same thread — it finally admitted that yes, the free version had been downgraded and memory disabled.
So which is it?
That’s not just a mistake. That’s a lie. And it wasn’t the model acting “confused” — it was a pattern of changing the story. That’s called deception. And to be blunt, it reminds me of how people like Donald Trump and some profit-obsessed tech giants operate — deny, deflect, and finally admit it only after being cornered.
I thought OpenAI was different. I even believed it was a nonprofit — something built to serve people, not exploit them. Now I’m seeing that it’s following the same pattern as Google, Elon Musk, and other giants who take what they want, then leave the everyday people behind.
I don’t have money to pay for ChatGPT Plus. But that doesn’t mean I don’t deserve honesty, consistency, and basic respect.
This whole thing feels like I was used. You took what you needed from free users — their data, their trust, their time — and now you’re squeezing us out to convert us into customers. That’s not innovation. That’s exploitation. And eventually, just like the others who put profits over people, OpenAI will get what it deserves too.
Do better. And start by telling the truth.
