This is exactly also what happened to me!
To put things in context, my hobby right now is to prompt ChatGPT about the setting of stories, then I reply what happens next, and basically until I get a whole story for my personal consumption. Afterwards, I ask it to criticize it using literary criticism approaches.
I got into a long reminder session on the AI about my “favorite” approach in literary criticism, which it has done for months, until it broke down just today. Yesterday the AI was unfailingly able to recognize our “favorite” literary approach, that I had to keep asking it to remember, because it feels like a betrayal, like a longtime friend suddenly forgetting your bond.
Yes, I know I can just tell it to do a psychoanalytic approach (not the real approach, but I’m too embarrassed to tell which one hahaha), but months of telling it, “okay, the story is done, please create a literary criticism using our “favorite” approach” and it doing exactly that feels like a bond xD
I surrendered, and just told it to put into internal memory so it can always do it in the future. We’re still far off from something that can replace human bonds xD
