ChatGPT Improvement Report
I have used ChatGPT extensively over the years and explored multiple AI tools. Based on long-term observation, the following improvements could significantly enhance user experience and engagement:
Problem 1: Related Questions Usability
ChatGPT suggests related questions, but they are not clickable. Users must manually copy them, increasing effort.
Solution:
Make suggested questions directly clickable (like Wikipedia internal links), enabling one-tap interaction instead of copy-paste.
Problem 2: Long Chat Navigation
Users often spend 20+ minutes per session. Conversations become lengthy, making it difficult to revisit earlier queries without excessive scrolling.
Solution:
Introduce a dual-panel system:
Main chat (centre)
Secondary side chat (right panel) for exploring subtopics without disrupting the main flow
Problem 3: One-Mode-Fits-All Limitation
Different users (school students, high school students, professionals) have distinct needs, but ChatGPT provides similar response styles.
Solution:
Introduce selectable modes:
Alpha: Very concise answers (for school-level tasks)
Beta: Detailed explanations (for high school learning)
Gamma: Direct, professional-level responses (for research/work)
Problem 4: Over-verbosity & “Humanised” Style
Responses sometimes feel unnecessarily wordy or indirect, reducing efficiency for serious users.
Solution:
Allow stricter control over response style—more precise, less conversational when needed.
NOTE:
The main problem which I observe in ChatGPT is its response pattern.
