ChatGPT Bugs On Saved Memory Feature

I’m facing something same on my fictional love story and suddenly chat gpt started saving the memories with emotional vulnerabilities and too much over emotions instead of general story recap for future chat like it did before two days ago and I deleted all the memories and now my memory storage is empty no matter how many times chat gpt says it is updated still memory storage page is empty and i sent all my complaints to open ai team through help center and email and i received the three reply so far asking for more details and at last they said to me my ticket was further passed to support team and there is no reply or any update after it and chat gpt only saves one half sentence right now and I’m facing this issue from yesterday

I got a reply from their customer service when I complained about the broken memory system. I’m attaching a screenshot of it.
Decipher it as you like . Perfect corporate gas lighting.
I would like to believe it means ‘ we know it’s broken and trying to fix it ‘

It just means they are kindly saying whatever they don’t care

I talked to their chatbot as well and got this

SO at this point who knows lol

So… suffice to say some of us writers and authors who used Chat GPT memory capability as core helpers is f*cked… I wonder where exactly Open AI is heading toward to?

Anyone know any AIs that also have similar memory storing capability? Because Chat GPT is unreliable- too much so-called “updates” and “advancements” to be endured.

eh perhaps. but who knows? given that on reddit people are complaining, people on here are complaining… perhaps they finally registered it? i don’t know.

AcidGPT     . seems to have taken too many tabs this time however lmao

Everybody complaining, me too. The memory sucks hard now. Yes, i have cross-reference function, which is nice. But internal memory is far, farm more important.

Aware is one thing, but actually doing something is another. Just depends on where it falls on their priority list

given by how many people are complaining both on reddit and on here, logically speaking it should be atleast a high priority

True, but memory technically isn’t “broken” it still saves just not as much as it used to. Which could but further down the list if something else is higher priority. Seeing how others have made statements that this has been going on for days its either a big issue that they have been working on, or something they aren’t concerned about right now. Or, enough people have complained and are just now deciding to take a look, but if it was a big enough issue I would assume a statement would be made, or even something on their status page would say they are aware and working on it

Hahaha. Something similar happened to me once. I was literally writing an RPG story for the game “The World Ends With You.” I told chat: [Save this, these are my combat pins…]. And it mentioned that it was personal information, and obviously you can’t save stuff like that according to OpenAI’s policy. But it had already saved that same thing to me before, so I deleted that thread and tried again in another one. And bingo, it worked. I had saved data or characteristics of other characters like their hair, eyes, clothing, personality, and trust me, it didn’t have a problem. Even saving lore or background data. If you want to save information about yourself, modify the ChatGPT settings it uses when you make a new chat, in advanced instructions. Ignoring the name, hobby, and characteristics fields in ChatGPT. Scroll down almost to the bottom, where it says “What else should chatGPT know about you?” There you can enter information; if it’s not something prohibited, it will probably accept it. The limit is 1,500 characters if I remember correctly, or that’s what I saw as a Free user; as a Plus user, I think it went up to about 1,750… The thing is, all these settings are like an initial prompt for new conversations. And it can be considered an extension of memory, but this one is active; however, it’s specific to each thread. If I change those settings, it doesn’t apply to old threads; it will remember the old settings. But it’s good for saving things. I saved things there like: My name, nickname, age, nationality, facial and even body features, clothing, emblem, and yes, ChatGPT recognizes them as if they were saved in main memory.

Sorry for the last message, i write in Spanish HAHAHAH.

As long as the memory work on chatgpt i probably wont make a complaint about this everytime. So now i reallised details have to be in the memory box to remember otherwise it just forgets simple details then. they have to fix this bug please

Is it saving long paragraphs with out restrictions and i hope you are not facing problems like most of the people complained here that saved memories are not showing in memory storage page even after chat gpt says it saved or updated and only saving one line sentences and memory is not fully broken but it half broken actually and if your memory is working it’s good to listen it’s not affecting all users of chat gpt only most users and so far support team claimed as bug or technical issue
