ChatGPT Archive Issue & Need for Bulk Deletion Option

Dear OpenAI Team,

I am a Pro user who relies on ChatGPT for my business operations, and I am requesting an urgent improvement in its functionality. As a paying customer, I expect a seamless and reliable experience, yet the current chat management system is flawed.

I recently deleted all my chat history—not by accident, but because the system does not clearly indicate which chats specifically will be removed when clicking the “Delete all chats” button. Your Help Center explicitly states that all archived chats are saved when moved to that section, which is why I took the time to archive the conversations I wanted to keep. However, after using the “Delete all chats” option, to delete the remaining chats in the main menu, my archived chats were deleted as well. This clearly misrepresents the intended functionality of the archive feature and misleads users into believing their archived chats are protected when, in fact, they are not. This lack of clarity and inconsistency creates a deceptive experience that does not align with reasonable user expectations.

Additionally, the inability to delete multiple chats at once—forcing users to remove them individually—is highly impractical, especially for those who rely on ChatGPT for professional use and accumulate hundreds of conversations. There should be a “Select All” or multi-selection option for managing chat history.

As a paying customer whose business depends on your services, I strongly suggest that you start dealing with this matter, especially since there are more users with the same problem. The Archive feature must function as described, and bulk deletion options really should be implemented to ensure proper user control over stored data.

Thank you!

Best regards,
Tijana
