Can't select text to copy in response

I’m on the Pro subscription. On desktop, it’s no longer possible to select parts of text to copy. All that remains is clicking the copy button, which will copy the full reply. This is beyond stupid! Replies are often long, and it’s seldom that I want to copy the full reply.

FIX THIS!

Yep same here on the pro version, only option is to click the copy button but it selects it all.

I am on pro version and am unable to select and copy text. Control + A will not select text. I was able to use the copy function in Firefox. Please help.

Same here—this started for me about 24 hours ago as well. I’m on the Pro plan, and it’s suddenly impossible to select parts of a reply to copy. It’s incredibly frustrating, especially for longer responses where I only need a section. Definitely not an improvement.

Same thing here. From one day to the next, text selection, e.g. for copy, is no longer possible in conversations. (pro version)
This may affect Windows 7. It looks like OpenAI has rolled out a change to ChatGPT’s frontend behavior with a new mouse event handling feature.
Please fix this!
Please: don’t decide for the user which devices we are allowed to use and how we are allowed to work. Please keep the options open!

I’m a Windows 7 user and free user.

The same issue issue happened to me. It’s really frustrating! I hope they fix it.

You can select and copy it’s hidden; it just doesn’t show blue highlighted. Try it!

I have the same issue, and it’s such a negative experience, makes me not want to use it anymore. Instead I get a bubble that lets me ‘‘ASK CHATGPT. I’m already using it? I hate this feature so much, just let me copy paste
