I was trying out the new GPT-5-Codex model when i realized that all i was seeing was its chain of thought. not what code it was editing or files it was adding and id like to be able to see and undo some of these changes in case something doesn’t go right. I’m not really a user of the codex terminal, Mainly the VS Code plugin.
Also i dont know if anyone else is having this issue. but the codex model also leaves weird inline formatting errors like leaving /r or /n in the code without actually moving down a line.
Hi @TheFam , I’m experiencing the same issue in Cursor (a VSCode clone). In the YouTube videos, I noticed that Codex used to display a summary of changes in the chat window. I haven’t tried much to resolve the issue yet, but for now my workaround is to check the Git window. You can toggle it using Ctrl+b (on Windows). I’m not sure if you use Git, but if you do, you’ll be able to see the changes there. Here’s a screenshot:
Hope it helps. Happy programming ![]()
The problem with new update is, it reverts my changes and uses only its version to make any new updates.
You’re not crazy. There used to be a summary and an undo button. They seem to have removed that, which is a HUGE downgrade imo.
Did you manage to find a fix to this issue? Was looking for how to find the summary and undo button as well.
