I’ve heard that ChatGPT’s Chat and Work modes might be merged in the future. And if that means regular Chat conversations will start consuming the same shared usage allowance as Work and Codex, I honestly find that extremely hard to accept.
I’m a ChatGPT Plus subscriber, and I’m not just a heavy Codex user — I’m also an extremely heavy Chat user.
If Chat, Work, and Codex end up sharing the same usage pool, my ability to have conversations with ChatGPT could be severely restricted, because I rely heavily on Work and Codex to handle my academic and professional tasks.
But here’s the thing: the more overwhelmed I am by studying and working, the more I need ChatGPT’s Chat mode to help me relieve anxiety, process my thoughts, and cope with stress.
And there’s another important reason why Chat matters so much to me.
I’m a philosophy enthusiast. I frequently have long, in-depth discussions with ChatGPT about existentialism, Marxist philosophy, Marxist political economy, and many other philosophical subjects.
These conversations have helped me tremendously. ChatGPT allows me to grasp complicated philosophical ideas much faster, challenge my own assumptions, and explore questions in much greater depth.
In fact, this is one of the main reasons I switched from Gemini to ChatGPT.
I find ChatGPT’s conversations deeper, more personalized, and more intellectually engaging. Its memory system is also excellent, making long-term discussions feel coherent and meaningful.
These are some of the biggest reasons why I decided to pay for Plus in the first place.
To me, Chat isn’t just another feature. It’s an essential part of what makes ChatGPT valuable.
I don’t want to be forced to choose between using AI to get my work done and using AI to think, reflect, and explore philosophy.
So, Tibo, PLEASE!!!
If Chat really does get merged into the same usage pool as Work and Codex…
