Can AI really write books?

My specific focus is around technical writing but there’s a lot of overlap. The reason to leverage AI in technical writing is that technical documentation often becomes stale and out of date shortly after it’s written. The SDK changes, new features are introduced, a button moves to a different screen, etc. We use humans to do the vast majority of technical writing currently and they can’t keep up.
