The current projects system is very limited and not very useful
Currently, you can only “add to project” basic chatgpt chats
I only like chatting with my own custom gpt agent, and I want it to also share context with other chats if it’s same type, while also internally following it’s own instructions in addition to the project instructions/context
Not sure about the complexity, but it would massively help to be able to add ANY type of chat, even ones with custom gpt agents, to projects.
Second, the navigation of chats within projects is very one dimensional, if you have dozens of chats in a project it’s very hard to find them because the are all listed as if I’m the same directory
They’re should be an option to make sub folders within each project, looking similar to a virtual os, at least in terms of UI, for easier navigation
Lastly, since we have the ability to manually search within all of our existing chats, each ai model should optionally have the ability to also search with all of our previous chats, similar to Google search, or have the option to search within specific projects or within specific sub directories
That way our custom chats together feel like one big virtual machine
The reason the current model is really wait has is because we keep on building up hundreds or thousands of old chats that just keep getting saved in the deep history of our account, without ever being able to access them again or find them
If we had the ability to organize them by category and buy sub category and search in limited scopes, it would massively improve everything entirely
One more extension of this same last point:
In addition to the agents (should optionally include as well custom agents if it’s enabled) to be able to search in existing chats/projects, there should be an optional option (can be rate limited or only for pro accounts if it’s too expensive, but it’s still necessary) to have the chat agent itself organize existing chats within projects, and rename stuff and move then around and add labels and categories to them
What would be REALLY good is if the agents can also just directly write text to the “sources” area of a project, similar to like a virtual os computer
Or at least allow other ai agents to access shared files in our own virtual device
I noticed in the chats it sometimes writes test across and stuff in its own internal machine, but then other charges can’t access it
There should be a secure way to have other chats share the same system and same data begins the scenes, so each new chat doesn’t have to completely reinvent everything each time
