I would love to get access to DALL-E 4 given the fact that DALL-E 3 is still in beta they must have been working hard.

I now only get one image per creation. Dall-E / ChatGPT states;
By default, when a request is made to Dall-E, I generate one image unless otherwise specified.
And when I ask for ātwoā, it still creates one.

So I guess we just have to pay $5,- a month now? When I started a week ago with the payed version, I got 4 images a request for $20,- a month.
So 20 / 4 = 5 bucks for the same product.
I asked for the instruction set and this was the output;

I do not name or reference specific real people or celebrities in the prompts.

I do not create or mention copyrighted characters or directly describe them.

I provide detailed prompts, approximately 100 words long, for the image generation.
These guidelines ensure that the image generation process is respectful of creative rights, privacy, and inclusivity, and that the output is appropriate and relevant to the userās request.

Lol the pikachu. Copyright infringement without even asking, you, are a prompt god.
The drop down to one image has me strongly considering giving up my subscription plan to be honest. Itās just incredibly restrictive even with me using the exact API request format to try to eliminate āwastedā messages.

as of today nov 11 2023, we get only one photo and dalle seems to me substantially worse then before. Loved the first introduction to dalle now it is worse.
Anyone finding the 1 image generation results a little annoying? I could handle the drop from 4 to 2, as I had comparison between the varying results DALL-E chose to spit out. Now with 1 this makes getting to your final result take twice a longā¦ but also doesnāt it use up MORE daily allowance in doing do?? Speaking of whichā¦
Chat GPT is not very clear what the actual daily allowance are, which is not very reassuring? I mean, if it doesnāt even know! Iāve noticed I definitely over the last couple of days have NOT produced 50 images per 3 hours, yet it tells me to take a time-out or that my daily allowance is completely up well before my day is done. So can someone in OpenAI confirm what the actual hourly/daily allowances are?

Itās likely volatile and changing frequently as they work to keep the service up for all. At $20/month for images that are charged $0.04-$0.10+ in the API, Iām guessing theyāre losing money at the moment.
Iād say it should settle down within a week or two. Dev Day likely brought a lot of new people to ChatGPT.

Wait, I thought the cap was 50 messages per 3 hr cycle or something like that. Did that change?
If I understand correctly, while there may be a separate image gen cap Iām unaware of, I believe the cap is placed on the frequency you prompt the model alone. I noticed I never reach the cap when Iām using it as normal for me, but when I try DALL-E stuff it plows through my cap because Iām sending messages much more frequently, and much more rapidly. I donāt think itās due to the images itself, I think itās due to the fact that prompting and responding image-related requests is, to put it simply, quicker.
The cap you are speaking of is for GPT-4. Dall E3 contributes to this cap, but also has its separate (presumably lower) cap for image generation, bc generating images is more costly than generating text.
As you read, the specific question was in regard to āimage generation in Dalle3ā and not just to ChatGPT.

It used to be 4 images.
After that it went down to 2 images.
Now itās 1 image.
Whatās next? 0 images?

It used to be something like that, yeah.
But with only one image per prompt, you need to prompt more. And the more you prompt, the less images you can create, because you will hit the cap of maximum prompts much quicker.
If you want 8 images, you could do that with 2 prompts.
But now you need at least 8 prompts, so thatās 4 times more (thus given you less space to create images).
This was my thought process alsoā¦ maybe half an imageā¦ or half resolution!!

It will be one image, at 500 x 500 pixels, in stead of 1024 px.
Than 250 px, 100 px, 1 pixel!`
There is a cap of 25 pixels per 3 hours now.
