Hi everyone!
We’ve been working on a cool new project that helps developers simplify their prompt management workflow. It’s an intermediary layer to OpenAI with a straight-forward integration process and a user-friendly interface that makes prompt management accessible to our non-developer team mates as well. Besides helping you maintain an overview of your prompt versions, PromptBetter empowers users to make informed decisions based on data-driven insights. We’re talking a/b tests, real-time user feedback, live logs that include your API calls and responses as well as a few more features that we’re still working on and are hoping you’ll love!
As we’re finalizing the last details, we’d appreciate feedback from our OpenAI community.
Early access is now open and available on our website promptbetter.ai
Let us know what you think!
Thanks
David and the PromptBetter team
Yes, you will need your OpenAI API key to use PromptBetter. We leverage your API key to interface with the OpenAI service, allowing you to manage and adapt your AI prompts seamlessly.
Requiring the user to use their own api key for a closed-source interface is a huge no-go for me. A lot of people have been burned by that.
I do like the idea of A/B testing prompts.
Good luck in your venture!
Hello David and Team,
I’ve been using PromptBetter for a week, and I’m impressed. Transitioning prompts from codebase to UI has simplified my workflow, and the implementation of variables and conditions is just brilliant.
The user interface, while basic, is efficient. I’d love to see it enhanced aesthetically in future updates.
Your A/B testing is superb, streamlining my decision-making process.
I do hope you guys are planning to introduce the function calling integration soon. It’s something I’m looking forward to immensely.
Great work so far, and best of luck with PromptBetter!
Cheers,
Max
Hi Ronald,
Thanks for your feedback - much appreciated!
I totally get your point about the API keys. However, they are necessary for the integration with OpenAI’s API, and I assure you, they are handled with the utmost care within a secure environment. It also comes with the benefit of keeping our interface simple to use, making prompt management accessible to all users, regardless of their technical background.
That said, I love hearing constructive feedback like this. It gets the gears turning for our team - maybe we can find a way to refine the process while maintaining security and functionality.
Anyway, really glad you like the A/B testing feature. Would be great to hear more of your thoughts once you’ve had a spin with PromptBetter!
Best,
David and the PromptBetter crew
Hey Max,
Thank you so much for the awesome feedback! We’re stoked to hear that PromptBetter has been a game-changer for your workflow. Making prompt management easier and introducing variables and conditions were top priorities for us, and we’re glad that you find them brilliant!
We hear you on the user interface, and we’re already on it! We’re working to give it a fresh and appealing look in future updates, so stay tuned for that.
It’s awesome to know that our A/B testing feature is streamlining your decisions. We’ll keep refining it to make it even more seamless for you.
We’re excited to let you know that function calling integration is already in the pipeline! We’ll be introducing it soon and we hope it will further elevate your experience with PromptBetter!
Thank you once again for your support and encouragement. We are committed to continually improving and providing your with the best experience possible.
Best,
David and the PromptBetter team

It looks like you forgot to include your email in there
Hi there! Whenever we try to include our email in one of our responses, it’s turned into a placeholder. hey@promptbetter.ai Let’s see if this works!
Hey Ronald,
We just wanted to let you know that we’ve been thinking a lot about your concern regarding the API keys and have decided to make a change! Starting August 1, we will no longer require users to provide their individual key. It’s going to be a much smoother experience for everyone now! Your input was a game-changer for us, and we really appreciate it. We’re all about improving the user experience, and your feedback pushed us in the right direction.
We’d be thrilled if you could give the new and improved version of PromptBetter a try! We think you’ll love it.
Thanks again.
David and the PromptBetter crew
@promptbetter interesting app. Can I test the prompts directly in the app? I see there are options for GPT like in the OpenAI playground but cannot generate text.
Hi there,
Thanks for taking the time to check out our app! Currently, PromptBetter doesn’t provide the capability to test prompts (and their outputs) directly within the app’s interface. Our primary focus is on streamlining the prompt management workflow for developers within their own applications. As a result, generating text with GPT models is only possible through a POST request to the prompt’s URL.
Are you considering integrating PromptBetter into your software? If so, let me know if there’s anything I can help you with.
Thanks again for giving our app a spin!
David
