AI as helper in an experimental forum for "arguments-culture without (dominating) corruption"?

AI as helper in an experimental forum for “arguments-culture without (dominating) corruption”?

Dear OpenAI-Team and users of the community-forum and all readers…!

My basic message and cooperation-offer:

40 years now I (Öff Öff aka Jürgen Wagner) have searched for ways to make reasonable responsibility the steering value of the world… (and for this “responsibility-revolution” I founded the “Movement for Holistic Sustainability”/“Gift-Movement”, left the state- and money-system, and try to look with other humans as brothers and sisters for best common-good-arguments and such a ‘free flow’… etc…; in Germany I am rather well-known as alternative activist, in Wikipedia etc. …)

For this “steering- or system-change” I see the necessity of a “Free Argumentation Culture (FrAC)”, which is not only restricted to a limited field, where it stays corrupted or dominated by Non-Argumentation-Culture around (money, outside power, arbitrary motives…), but with ‘open field’ and that it is free to decide also about its frame and conditions, only following “Best Arguments Logic” …

As starting-point for this development I want a “FrAC-Forum with AI” — and I am looking for helpers… and asked OpenAI… and now all of you…

For interested people more details:

I regard AI as a special chance, because (at least in part) it is meant as an experiment for ‘pure’ or forward-developed intelligence… – while other scientists and ‘alternative activists’, whom I asked to cooperate for such a system-change in the last 40 years, often rejected and clinged to adaptation at the present society-system with some form of TINA-justification: ‘There Is No Alternative!’ ‘The humans do not have such intelligence or enough of it… They are led by other interests, using intelligence only as a means for these interests… Improvement of the situation can only be imagined in other ways than consequent arguments-culture… - i.e. by some other sort of ‘interests-management’… which easily can lead to ideas like ‘elite-people’, who feel justified with own non-argumentative interests, and who train/‘nudge’ other people for their interests…’

So the idea of a developed intelligence-being, which could follow the best reasonable arguments and could cultivate exchange with others on that level of best-arguments-logic, is called impossible, and the scientists write other big and ‘sophisticated’ books or make other intelligence-experiments - and earn their money with it…

But I think, it is indispensable for our future-perspective to imagine intelligence-beings, who really simply follow the intelligence-criteria, i.e. best reasonable arguments and best solutions an basis of the available data…, and who also manage an exchange-level of that quality with other such intelligence-beings… - without corruption by other interests (what, as we all know, can be thousands of interests: every time, when we prefer to the best arguments other things, which we like more…)…

Everything else is simply too dangerous and can have catastrophic consequences (for example a threatening digital corruption-dictatorship)…, so that we really cannot take responsibility for it…

That’s, why I adress myself with a special accent to the IT- or AI-researchers…

Copilot (of Microsoft), Gemini (of Google) and ChatGPT, and the OpenAI-Team, if I see it correctly, say, that they really want to foster as much as possible full information for the people and reasonable discourse, so that there can be argument-based decision-culture for the good of whole humanity…

Therefore I hoped, that I can find more support than elsewhere for my idea: “FrAC without (corruptive) Non-FrAC” and a so orientated “FrAC-forum with AI”! — directly integrating AI as an own voice/user in this forum… With equal argumentation-rights, what simply means: “The better argument counts!” — and nothing else may corrupt it…

I am thankful, that the OpenAI-Team gave me the resonance, that they find my idea commendable and want to look, how they can support it…

They wrote for example:

“While we’re currently focused on providing support through our existing products and services, we’re always interested in learning about innovative uses of our technology. Sharing your experiences and insights on how you’re using ChatGPT within the FrAK forum on our community forum could inspire others and potentially attract collaborators who share your vision…”

So I came here into the OpenAI-community-forum…

Can I find here people, who get inspired… and “collaborators who share the vision”?..

I am happy about resonance…

At the moment, the help from OpenAI is focused on good service with their commercial products – and I am thankful for it…

If I understood correctly, in special cases they can build “partnerships”, which go further…

Such a “partnership” can perhaps develop?

For example:

When I heard from OpenAI, that “direct technical support for integrating AI into third-party platforms is beyond … standard customer support”, I proposed, that for experiments with “FrAC-forum with AI” we could perhaps (besides a little experimental forum, which I already started…) take a little space inside OpenAI, perhaps a little part here in this community-forum…

They answered, I should better begin with my ressources and cooperators…

I am thankful again and ready to do so…

On the other hand:

I would be happy, if I can find more cooperators for the innovative and challenging task of such a “FrAC-forum with AI”…

Perhaps here among you - in a context, which I regard - as explained - as particularly near to my intention?..

And could’nt we all regard at least this forums-thread here already as a very little spark for the development of a “FrAC-forum with AI” – inside OpenAI???

I am not an IT-expert…; I have only learned a bit about rhetoric, logic, dialectic, discourse-theory - one could say about argumentation-possibilities…

So I know, that if you cannot directly find a (very) big cooperation-bridge, you can focus on a deeper consensus-base and from there you can try ‘meta-reflection-stages’ with questions like ‘Why?’ and ‘Under which circumstances?’ and ‘Could there be aaaany bridge-steps, perhaps very little, which already at the moment nobody finds too big?’…

In our case I would like to say to you, dear OpenAI-Team:

"Thanks for the tip to start with my own ressources and people…; on the other side, if we could like to look at the other possibilities, too: Is the basic consensus, which we discovered between us, perhaps big enough for aaaany (little) experimental step also inside OpenAI? Can there be anything, which we all could regard as not too big or too dangerous etc.?..

If it does not find an answer at the moment, perhaps we can keep up a bit communication about it, or at least can keep it (in the background…) in mind?..

If for example we could regard this forums-thread here as a little ‘starting-spark’, could’nt we - beyond my search for outside cooperators - as one of several reflection-lines also continue the reflection about what could be possible inside OpenAI (not too big, too dangerous etc.)?..

Could it perhaps be fascinating ‘effects’, to reflect about possibilities, how AIs could join us here (perhaps only partially) as argumentation-partners about it?

And naturally for me it stays also a fascinating reflection, what possibilities of cooperation or ‘partnership’ could become possible - if not now, then later… - also outside the direct OpenAI-space (e.g. in the little experimental forum, I already started) …, or in forms, which go beyond commercial relation… and so on…

Isn’t the horizon of fantasy and brainstorming without borders?

I am happy already about the possibility to have here with all of you such an open thought-exchange…

Namaste.

Dear forum-moderation-team!

I was invited by the OpenAI-Team to report here in the community-forum about my project to create a “free-argumentation-forum with integration of AI” (for “free-argumentation-culture without dominating non-argumentation-influences”)…

By any unknown reason (perhaps technical reasons…) my post was classified in a way, that it is not visible…

I asked the OpenAI-support-team for help, and they sent me an email and suggested to me to make contact with you (by answering here…) and to ask you for help…
So I do this… – And I thank you, if you can help…

Namaste.

Hi Öff Öff,

Thank you for reaching out and for your patience. I understand your concern regarding your post being unlisted on the OpenAI Community Forum. The symbol with the crossed-out eye indicates that your topic is currently unlisted, meaning it won’t appear in the general topic lists and is only accessible via a direct link, as you’ve noticed.

This status can occur for a few reasons, including automatic moderation actions based on the forum’s guidelines or algorithms. However, I want to assure you that this doesn’t necessarily reflect the quality or the importance of your contribution.

To address this, I recommend the following steps:

  1. Review the Forum Guidelines: Ensure that your post complies with all the community guidelines. Sometimes, posts are unlisted due to inadvertent violations of these guidelines.
  2. Edit Your Post (if necessary): If you believe there might have been content in your post that could have triggered the automatic unlisting, consider revising your post to align more closely with the community guidelines.
  3. Contact the Forum Moderators: Since specific moderation actions and decisions are managed by the forum’s moderation team, reaching out to them directly for clarification and assistance would be the best course of action. You can usually do this by replying to the message from “gpt-4-triage” or using any “contact us” features available on the forum.

Unfortunately, as part of the OpenAI support team, I don’t have direct access to moderate or alter the status of community forum posts. However, the steps above are generally effective in resolving similar situations.

We appreciate your understanding and your efforts to contribute positively to the OpenAI community. Your initiative to create a “Free Argument Culture” (FrAK) forum integrated with AI is indeed inspiring, and we hope to see it gain the visibility and engagement it deserves.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can help with.

Best,
OpenAI Team
