I can see them too. Zoom in on the peach with it’s pit showing with the two water droplets on them top right corner
Yeah, but that’s not an option for image generators for marketing campaigns. GPT leapt ahead of Nano Banana a few months back with it’s image gen capabilities but then this…I’d like to think GPT is trying to fix it as it seems to be something the community is talking about. At least in the AI image generating world
You may want to try using the API instead of ChatGPT to generate images.
If I may, here is a picture I made on July 30, which is also based on other generations of what is meant to be the same set up. If you look on the floor, the couch, her outfit, and the bottom section of the visible wall…there is this odd pattern that is almost circular in nature. This is what I was referring to before, so I don’t know if it’s the same problem as what you are experiencing, but that pattern in my picture was not something I asked for.
Yeah, the quality of that image is questionable. I’d like to see your prompt.
I downloaded your image and increased the brightness level such that more detail can be seen. Lack of brightness is a common issue which can be avoided with the correct prompt.
Note: I cannot see the odd circular pattern that you are referring to.
I’d still like to see your original prompt.
This isn’t an issue of quality from a prompt. I’m a professional photographer of 15+ years, and I’ve been using Midjourney, Gemini, ChatGPT and other image generation apps for about as long as they’ve been around. The weird “patterning” I’m seeing is just in ChatGPTs new image generation, and it started about 3 weeks ago. Specifically when it comes to re-rendering an image you ask the bot to change or edit.
Again, these are screenshots - not the original images. And you are right - they are terrible screenshots.
I cannot validate screenshots. Validation is required in order to make sure images were create by OpenAI gpt-image-2:
https://openai.com/research/verify/
If you want help here, you are gonna have to provide validated images and show prompts.
Good to know! Thanks VeitB
I keep giving you close up screenshots because you keep saying in the actual images you can’t see the artifact. If you aren’t looking at them on a large screen and aren’t capable of zooming in, how am I supposed to show you want I’m seeing? Why do my prompts matter when different prompts create the same weird patterning all over skin, stones, peaches, etc? I can show you prompts, but since you say you can’t see what I’m talking about, I’m not sure that will help
Just now created this image via the API:
Prompt
A brightly lit, deatailed and colorful image of a bearded man playing chess with a persian can. The background shows modern furnishings and abstract art. The brightness level must be such that all figures and objects are clearly seen.
See any artifacts? And I show my prompt.
BTW, I use two VERY large monitors.
No I don’t. I am not saying I can never get any images that don’t have the artifact, I’m saying it shows up when you ask for re-renders, even if you download an image that doesn’t have it and upload it and ask for changes. I’m betting if you now told Chat to change the position of the mans hand, then change the painting in the background, you would see it on his skin in about 3 renders
This isn’t an issue for a casual image creation. It’s an issue for professional retouchers and graphic designers that use the bot to iterate.
I’m betting if you now told Chat to change the position of the mans hand, then change the painting in the background, you would see it on his skin in about 3 renders.
First of all, I don’t use ChatGPT. I only use the API. So give me a minute to take your challenge using the image edit endpoint…
Note: This is the first time you are talking about image edits. Getting closer to the truth ![]()
Hi @rachel8,
Are you using chat or work in ChatGPT, when generating images?
Also, as pointed out, it would help if you’d share a prompt here and if you haven’t, I’d follow this recommendation too : Ai Artifacts in all image generations - cellular patterns - #11 by VeitB
