I would like to suggest adding a Hide/Archive Project option in ChatGPT.
Currently, Projects are displayed in the sidebar, but users may have projects that they don’t want to see there regularly while still wanting to keep them.
For example, I have a project called NPTEL that I don’t want to delete, but I also don’t want it to remain visible in my Projects list all the time.
A simple “Hide Project” or “Archive Project” option would solve this.
Suggested behavior:
- Right-click or
⋯on a Project → Hide/Archive - Project disappears from the main Projects list
- All chats and files remain safely stored
- A separate Archived/Hidden Projects section allows users to access it later
- Users can Unhide/Restore the project whenever needed
This would be especially useful for students and users who have many Projects but only actively work on a few of them at a time.
