Please extend Codex’s file-handler settings with a simple option to add custom handlers alongside “Built-in” and compatible plugins.
Users should be able to choose an action for each file type, without needing a separate plugin:
- Show the file in Finder on macOS or File Explorer on Windows, selecting it in its folder—for example, ZIP files so they can be extracted.
- Open the file with a chosen application—for example, HTML in Chrome.
- Launch an application directly when requested, instead of only showing it in its folder.
A small “Add custom handler” option would make these actions available to Codex users without changing the operating system’s global file associations.
